By Amy Hood - @Amylia403 It’s that time of year again. The time when all Oncers fall into that dark abyss that follows the season finale. A break between seasons where Rumbellers, SwanQueens and other shippers find common ground in their hunt for tidbits and scraps of info on our favorite characters. Now is a perfect time to take a look back at the roller coaster of season 2, and highlight what we discovered this year. Holidays Will Rock So, Henry is the son of Emma, and Grandchild of Snow and Charming. He is also the adopted son of Regina and her step-great-grandson. Baelfire is Henry’s father, making Rumple Henry’s grandfather. All of this makes Rumple, Regina, and the Charmings IN-LAWS! Merry Christmas folks. Hopefully someone will spike the punch and no one gets turned into a snail before the presents get opened. PS- if someone gets a box from Cora or Regina and its thumping…..I wouldn’t open it. It's A Small World After All! A Chinese warrior named Mulan is BFFs with Prince Philip and Aurora. Some suggest maybe a little bit more than a BFFs relationship going on there. ;) Who knows, if so, good for them! We also learned that Hook knows not only his “Crocodile” Rumple, but has a history with Bae. Bae has had a run in with the Darling family. Hook also has a past with Regina and her mother Cora, who was the Queen of Hearts. And in the biggest chance of fate, Rumple’s son Bae is Emma’s ex and Henry’s father. It’s one big high school reunion this season on Once. Remember that guy from gym class? It’s Rumplestiltskin! The prom Queen you hated? Cora! Most likely to end up a barfly? Belle! Magic Can Be Destroyed By A Helluh Cool Taser! We saw this year the destruction of both “The Dragon” and August by Tamara’s super amazing, one of a kind, call now and we’ll add this awesome cutting board, Taser. Something is going on with this taser. It’s clearly packed with some kind of super magic busting science stuff. Or perhaps it’s loaded up with pixie dust, or crushed magic wands. Either way, Tamara definitely got her money’s worth out of that infomercial purchase! Sweet Kids Can Turn Into Punk Ass Adults! Oh, Greg/Owen. You were a cute, cherub faced little guy back in 1983. We loved you with your cute Star Wars references and the way you dug camping. Fast forward 28 years. We hate you, Greg. We hate you with the fire of a thousand suns. Sure, Regina killed your dad. We get that you’re upset, it’s a real bummer. But still, you and your taser wielding wench are just asking for a smack down! Of course, having said that, we can’t wait to see what you’re up to next. Family Isn't Always Blood This is shown time and time again. Regina, even with all her flaws, is certainly as much of a mom to Henry as Emma. Granny is always around to help anyone in town who needs a room, or some crossbow defense. Then of course there is Team 7. Our much loved 7 Dwarfs. When Anton/Tiny the giant was brought to Storybrooke and was all alone, they took him in. Tiny lost his whole family in Fairytale Land, but gained a new one when he was brought into the fold of Team 7. ONCE shows once again that it isn’t always blood ties that make a family. And if 7 Dwarfs can adopt a giant into their family, surely anyone and everyone is deserving of love. Family might not look the same. You may not be the same color, size, gender, sexual orientation, or heck, even from the same land! Family is who you love and who loves you. Most importantly: Oncers Hate Breaks! ABC, the powers that be, whom ever is scheduling our beloved show, please take note. Oncers may not agree on their favorite character, the hottest man or evilest villain. We may even see arguing among the separate groups and poll rigging over a simple question of best romance. However, ALL of us will agree that we loathe the long breaks between episodes. The weeks where we know we have another 2 or 3 weeks before we get more of our show. Even worse is when those breaks are frequent. We love our show, we support our show, and we want it with fewer breaks!
Season two has come to a close. We wait, not so patiently, to follow the Jolly Roger into Neverland for Season three. We know that we are not waiting alone. Millions of us around the world, in one big Oncer family, are waiting. We are in different lands and may never meet, but we all share something special from being part of this group. Season two was quite the ride, and I, like the rest of my Oncer family, can’t wait to follow that second star to the right in the fall of this year.
